Anita Lester BSc Hons
Anita is a registered Sandplay Therapist and has had many years of experience working with children. Anita truly believes in the effectiveness of this non-verbal form of play therapy as she has been able to observe its positive results across cultures. Her travels have allowed her the opportunity to work with children both in the Caribbean and England where she has been able to observe the positive effect that Sandplay has had on them despite the huge differences in culture. Anita’s moto is that ‘play is the universal language of children’ and it is though play that they are able to communicate most effectively as well as heal. Anita qualified as a Sandplay Practitioner with Play Therapy UK (PTUK) and then further went on to qualify as a Sandplay Therapist with the Association for Sandplay Therapy. She currently runs a private practice as well as visits local primary schools to offer Sandplay Therapy to individuals at school. Recently she has also been supporting therapists with their personal process in Sandplay. Her background in music and fine art also help to shape the therapeutic work that she carries out with her clients.
