My early background was in drama and puppetry and I trained as a dramatherapist in 1997. Since then I have worked in a variety of primary schools in London, working with children from 4–14 years old. I have been in an educational setting for 16 years, developing my work to include support for adults who work with children including teachers and parents. I have always worked with the arts in creative therapy and over the years I realised my practice had become focused around the sand tray. In 2013 I began working and exploring a Jungian approach. The in-depth study of sand trays and my own personal sandplay therapy convinced me I had discovered a way of working that resonated with me. I am now a registered Sandplay Therapist with the Sandplay Association working in school and in private practice at home. I am also a supervisor and incorporate work in the sand to explore the child and the therapist’s process within the supervisory relationship.
