Having been an accredited Play and Creative Arts Therapist for many years, I saw time after time the power of Sandplay Therapy with my clients. Having qualified as a Registered Sandplay Therapist with the AST, I now work with adults and witness again their growth in coming to know themselves deeply through this powerful and gentle medium.
I work in a beautiful private practice in Borehamwood, Hertfordhire in the UK, an easy commute from Central London. Whilst I have a range of clients I have also supported many therapists who are seeking to develop their practice through their own Sandplay process. This has been an incredible honour.
As a mobile Sandplay Therapist I also work closely with those who are unable to come to my practice. For example, it is a joy to work with enclosed, contemplative communities for whom Sandplay seems to be a natural element to explore soul-centred issues.
I am particularly interested in the link between spirituality and Sandplay and am currently exploring how the practice of mindfulness by the Sandplay Therapist creates a deeper therapeutic relationship and holding through presence. In the future I hope to do my PhD on this topic.
As a University lecturer, I offer support to Sandplay Therapists in how to set up and grow a successful Sandplay Therapy Private Practice training, Therapist self-care days and will soon run a new workshop entitled ‘The Mindful Therapist’.
