I have spent the last seven years working in a variety of settings including schools, children’s centres and nurseries both in the voluntary and private sectors. During this time I gained a keen interest in the person, social and emotional development of the children and decided to pursue play therapy training. This led me to working therapeutically with children in schools who were displaying social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
I noticed how time after time the children were drawn to the sand and I felt compelled to learn more about this wonderful vehicle of self-expression.
As a result my sand play journey began in Ely with the very knowledgeable, yet humble. Eunice Stagg.
I have learned how powerful, magical and scared sand play really is and how it has the potential to transform people’s lives.
Currently I am working therapeutically with young children in a local primary school, predominately using sand play. It is an absolute privilege to bear witness to their individual journeys.
It is my wish to continue to provide this therapeutic tool to children and young adults who need it in the future.
